Boys Varsity Golf - 2018
(Stonehenge G&CC, par 36)
In an impromptu moment on the range before the match, the Chiefs and Trojans agreed to play a partner Ryder Cup style match at Stonehenge G&CC. The nine-hole match was divided into three sets, each set worth a point if won outright and .5 if split. The first set (holes #1-3) was played as a scramble, the second set (holes #4-6) was played Pinehurst Alternate shot , and the final set (holes #7-9) was best ball. A final point was earned by winning the overall number of holes.
Both teams enjoyed the format and had some moments of excellence. Dylan Fox and Henry Davis of Midlothian birdied #1 to go up one, but were answered by Monacan's Quint Dingledine and Brayden Latham with an eagle on #6. Monacan's Luke Neale and Rafe Snellings was the only team to earn at least a half point in every format.
